Kenton Ridge softball’s 13-game winning streak comes to end with loss at Indian Lake.
SOUTH CHARLESTON — Kiana Reames hit a solo home run to right field in the top of the seventh to break a tie and boost West Liberty-Salem to a 7-6 win over Southeastern in an Ohio Heritage Conference game.
Southeastern led 6-3 entering the sixth inning, but the Tigers stormed back. West Liberty-Salem scored three runs off of three hits in the sixth to tie the game. The Trojans advanced runners to second base in both the sixth and seventh innings but couldn’t push them across home plate.
Emily Schultz and Megan Deam went 3-for-4 for the Tigers. Reames had a single in the second inning to go along with her game-winning home run. Kylee Kite earned the win after giving up 15 hits and six earned runs.
Maddie Haggy and Julie Myers both went 3-for-4 for Southeastern with one RBI and two runs apiece. Maddy McKee went 3-for-5 with three RBIs. Savannah Sullivan went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Logan McFann picked up the loss for the Trojans; she gave up nine hits and five earned runs in the game.
Southeastern dropped to 11-8 with the loss.
Baseball: Tecumseh 15, Northwestern 5
Tecumseh pulled away to a blowout win after scoring five runs in both the sixth and seventh innings. The Arrows led 5-0 after the second, but Northwestern scored two runs in both the third and fourth innings to make the game close.
Wade Mastin went 2-for-3 for Tecumseh and scored four runs. Brandon Morgan and Logan Donovan batted in two runs each. Nine different players had hits in the game for the Arrows.
Jack Dague earned the win on the mound; he stuck out 11 batters and allowed six hits. Christian Highfield picked up the loss for Northwestern.
Justin Dodge went 2-for-3 for Northwestern and had one RBI.
Tecumseh hosts Sidney at home on Saturday. Northwestern finishes regular season with an 11-13 record. The Warriors open tournament play on the road against Shawnee on Tuesday.

The Lions earned two five-inning wins in a doubleheader on Thursday night in Springfield.
Xenia Christian tied the first game at 2-2 with two runs in the fourth, but the Lions responded in the bottom of the inning. Nick Kittles hit a single to right field that scored Zeke Dees and Thomas Mullins and gave the Lions the win. Cole Weaver earned the win in the first game for Emmanuel; he stuck out 11 and allowed two hits.
Emmanuel scored six runs in the third inning of the second game to open up a 1-0 deficit and cruise to a victory. Dylan Herring picked up the win for the Lions on the mound on the mound and went 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs.
The Lions (4-15) next play against Franklin-Monroe on Monday in a sectional tournament game.
Baseball: Shawnee 11, Greenon 1
The Braves earned a run-rule win in six innings to improve to 14-10 overall.
Cade Rybolt went 2-for-2 and scored two runs for Shawnee. Rybolt also picked up the win on the mound; he stuck out six and gave up four hits. Seth Gray batted in two runs for Shawnee.
Riley Williams went 2-for-2 for Greenon and scored the Knights’ run. Joey Edens went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Shawnee next plays at home on Monday against Benjamin Logan in a CBC crossover game. Greenon returns home on Saturday for a doubleheader against East Clinton.
Baseball: West Liberty-Salem 9, Southeastern 0.
The Tigers scored seven runs in the sixth innings to break open the game. G. Hunter and Trevor King went 2-for-4 for Southeastern.
